More news stories can be found online at allaboutnewport.co.uk Adams’ Cadets Keep Winning As the CCF at Adams’ Grammar School in Newport enters its 100th year, congratulations are in order for the school’s Army contingent, which has once again out performed everyone in this year’s West Midlands Brigade Military Skills and March competition. This 2015 win means the Adams’ Army Contingent retains the title of overall competition winners for the second year running, despite some very stiff competition from 25 competing teams. Moving to Newport All About Newport , had an interesting phone call recently. The caller requested two magazines and two Town Guides to be posted to him. The reason for his call, was that he and one of his relations are moving to Newport. They were looking to move to Shrewsbury, but Newport won. The caller commented that when they visited Newport “it was a fabulous market town with a lot to offer”. Thank Goodness for Vegetarian Food Local Newport business woman, Berni McCarthy has been producing gourmet nutroasts since 2003 and more products have been added to the range. All Berni`s nutroasts are handmade using the freshest ingredients. They have drawn great interest from the cookery and vegetarian communities, especially since they reached the final of the Waitrose Small Producers Awards in 2006. The latest additions to the Thank Goodness Ltd range are Bellissima Bolognese, Chilli Senza Carne and Honeyed Cashew Pâté with Orange Liqueur. Ladies’ Lunch A lunch is being organised by Sara-Jane Newell (Terry Jones Solicitors), which takes place on Tuesday 8th December. It is being held at the New Inn, Newport at 1pm. There is a set two-course menu for £15. Sara is hoping that this will prove to be a popular event. Plans are to make this lunch a regular occurance.
