 Each year thousands of people flock to Newport Town to watch the carnival and parade, There are a variety of shows and activities throughout the day, there's something for everyone whatever your age! 

This year's theme is TV & Toons. The High Street enertainment starts at 10am, with the Royal Party crowning held at the Butter Cross at 11am. The Parade starts at 12 noon and travels along Newport High Street, Crowds of people line the High Street. This will be the 7th year the carnival will be held in the heart of Newport on the High Street for the duration of the day. A great family day out and it’s free. Fabulous Floats and awesome entertainment. Craft gift, drink and food stalls. This years theme is to be confirme..

The procession will depart from Audley Avenue at 12noon, making its way along Avenue Road, Lower Bar, High Street and finishing in Upper Bar, before all floats dismount in Water Lane.

Please be aware that Water Lane will be closed for a short time during the procession and afterwards, to allow those on floats to safely dismount, but will re-open as quickly as possible once everybody is clear.

Big Announcement!
Last year the Carnival has some truly spectacular bands and entertainment to delight your eyes and ears!
On the main stage, we had the fantastic @Rick Sax opening at 10.45am.
At 2pm, the brilliant SkaBurst take to the stage, followed by the excellent Supernova - Oasis Tribute Band at 3.30pm and last but not least, the superb The Dirty Rockin Scoundrels!
In between our bands, we have stage front entertainment from Nova Panto Group - Shropshire Pantomime Group, an Indian drums band with dancers and some of our best local dance and theatre groups. Keep watching for 2024 update!
