Have you thought you have a book in you? Did you ever want to write a book?
A local boy, Iestyn Jones, age 10, has co-written and fully illustrated his own bestselling book called “Definitive Dinosaurs”.
Co-written with his Mum, also a published author, Romella Jones, the book teaches parents and children alike all they need to know about dinosaurs. From which time period they lived, what they ate, what their name means and where they lived. Plus there are jokes, games, guided visualisations and mindful activities that really make this book the definitive guide for any dino-obsessed child.
“Iestyn has loved dinos since he was a toddler, not just in a “grr dinosaur” way, but into the physiology, the feathers and colouring,” explains Mum. “His knowledge is so intense that it would be a real shame not to share it with other children and their parents. It’s amazing that he’s an Amazon bestseller aged 10. Feedback has been amazing with a teacher in Cornwall buying for his school as the content was so great!”
Iestyn has illustrated the book throughout with his colourful images of dinosaurs. Keeping them simple so any child can copy the drawings.
Iestyn is donating a copy to the Newport Library so local children are able to borrow the book and share the facts, jokes, games and visualisations too. He hopes to donate more through the Waitrose green coin scheme.
Iestyn is hoping to run a dinosaur workshop at Newport Library in the half term holidays – date to be set! He will be available to sign copies at the Newport Light Switch-on event on Friday 30th November.
