The Scherzando String Trio is giving a concert in Chetwynd Church on Sunday 12th October at 3pm in aid of the Church Appeal Fund for repairs to the church spire.
Newport based violinists Sue Harris and William Pickering are joined by London based ‘cellist Andrew Hughes to form the Scherzando Trio which has been playing all summer at weddings and charity events throughout Shropshire and beyond. The group also gives public recitals and this year was invited to play at the prestigious Erin Arts Centre as part of the Isle of Man “Island of Culture 2014” celebrations.
The programme for the forthcoming concert at Chetwynd will be a mixture of classical works from the 17th to 20th centuries plus some well known film and TV music including a first performance of music from The Lord of the Rings by Howard Shore arranged by Sue.
Tickets are £7.50 for adults but free for all children and young people up to age 18 and can be purchased in advance from sue.harris@manx.net or from Sue Askin on 01952 810162 or at the door. Refreshments will be available.
Sue said “This will be the second time that Scherzando has performed in aid of church funds and we look forward to another highly enjoyable afternoon of music among friends and neighbours by this accomplished group”.
