Making Time for Mum with Race for Life

Author | 24 February 2016

As Mother's Day approaches (March 6), Shropshire mums and daughters are being invited to spend quality time together by entering Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life at Telford Town Park, The Quarry, Shrewsbury, or Weston Park.

By committing to walk, jog, run and charge their way around the course, mums and daughters will be investing time in creating precious memories together.

This year, the 5k and 10k events in Telford take place on Sunday, May 22, the 5k event in Shrewsbury, on Wednesday, June 15, and Pretty Muddy in Weston Park will take place on Saturday, April 30.

Danny Farrington, Race for Life event manager for Telford, said: “We are urging women in Shropshire to give their mums a special gift this Mother’s Day, by signing up to Race for Life together. The feel-good factor that comes from being part of an army of women ready to show cancer who’s boss will last long after the event is over.

Last year, 5,193 women in Shropshire pulled on their trainers and put their heart and soul into raising £308,421 for life-saving research. This year, organisers hope to see the same level of support from local ladies.

To enter Race for Life’s 5k, 10k or Pretty Muddy events in Shropshire, visit raceforlife.org or call 0300 123 0770.
