Newport, Shropshire is working on yet another summer event, following hard on the heels of a great Carnival and Old Tyme Market!
Its Town Team is working hard to bring sheer shopping heaven, great fun and opportunities to explore the town in the company of experts on Saturday July 6 - as part of the national celebration of Independent Retailer Month.
Union Jack 'goodie' bags are being feverishly filled by the volunteer team - bags full of discount offers, special deals and other surprises and a chance to win a £50 Waitrose voucher - so roll into town on July 6 to get your hands on one of these!
The History Society will be leading free guided walks of the town from the Heritage Centre next to Newport's fabulous half-timbered Guildhall , and there will be face painting and other family fun, including a "Where's Wally" shop window competition - the winner of which will receive a Family Ticket for Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom.
At Salter's Court there will be all kinds of demonstrations, baking, beauty and other activities - all designed to show off the best of the town.
Waitrose experts will be judging our town's shop windows on Friday July 5 - (and donating the prize!) - and the winner of the best dressed window will be presented with a cracking bottle of Champagne by the Mayor on Saturday July 6th.
So make sure you are in Newport that day - explore, enjoy and SHOP at your local independent shops - and keep your High Street alive and kicking!
