Providing life saving blood and platelets to patients across the country doesn’t stop over Christmas.
With the weather getting worse, people finding themselves busy with festive break and the rise in colds and bugs, giving blood and platelets slips off the nation’s to-do lists. In previous years, we have seen around 24,000 missed appointments over the holiday period.
However, last year we had an incredible response from our community of donors over the festive period and we continued to supply hospitals with life saving products.
This year we are asking if you can support us to do the same. Help us to get the message out that we provide blood 365 days of the year and we need our loyal donors to make and keep a date to donate in the run up to Christmas.
Blood collecting sessions will be taking place on 23 December 2016 at Cosy Hall, Newport. Appointments are available between 12.25pm -3.30pm and 4.30pm - 7.30pm.
If you're a new donor and would like to register, please call 0300 123 23 23 or visit our website www.blood.co.uk to check your eligibility.
