To help kick off 2017 Alzheimer Research UK are starting a campaign to collect as many "unwanted Xmas gifts" (or indeed birthday, anniversary or unbirthday ones!) - across Shropshire which will be used at a Spring event to raise our first Shropshire funds for Alzheimer's Research UK!
There are at the moment two collection points: one in Shrewsbury and one in Newport - they hope to have one or two more in time. They will run this until the end of January but will always come and collect things after that!
Katie Foster, who is helping to set up a Shropshire support network to fundraise for Alzheimer's Research UK says "Could I please ask for your help to consider donating any gifts, goods or indeed "promises" to this campaign and help us gather some momentum for the wider campaign. And to circulate this plea for friends and family, office colleagues, Uncle Tom Cobbly & all to dig out an item or two and drop off at the locations below or to email me if you are not near them so we can make other arrangements."
Donations can be made in Newport through; Barker Healey Estate Agents/Pat Beech Mortgages 10 High Street, Newport Shropshire - Mon-Friday 8.30-5pm, Saturday 10-4pm.
