Weston Park, the stately home on the Shropshire \ Staffordshire border welcomes artists Alison Wilson and Glynis Mills into the Granary Art Gallery this May.
The duo are displaying their differing styles in this exhibition focusing on equestrian art, entitled ‘Two Viewpoints’.
In conjunction with the exhibition running throughout May the artists are also hosting a study day in the House, ‘Traditional and Contemporary Equestrian Art at Weston Park’ where visitors can learn more about the importance of horses within the artworks, as well as having a special guided tour by Weston Park’s Curator & Head of Learning Gareth Williams.
Alison Wilson produces realistic scenes of animals and people interacting with one another, with meticulous attention to detail, reflecting her belief in the importance of traditional drawing skills. Glynis Mills produces striking artworks that showcase her varying skills in illustration, realism and printmaking that culminate in stunning equestrian scenes. Both artists take an alternative approach to their subject matter, resulting in a highly interesting and dynamic exhibition.
The exhibition ‘Two Viewpoints’ can be viewed by the public in the Granary Art Gallery between the 29th April and the 31st May 2017. The Art Gallery is open 11am – 4pm. Free entry.
