Newport Swimming Pool Re-Opens its Doors

Author | 07 March 2014

Newport Swimming Pool reopened on Monday 3rd March after refurbishment works have seen the changing rooms improved to a modern unisex changing village. The changing village provides better facilities for all users in particular families and disabled users.

But the works have not stopped at the swimming pool.  An extension to the existing building means that a new Aspirations fitness suite is shortly to open, widening the leisure opportunities for residents in and around the Newport area. Aspirations in Newport, which opens on Saturday 15 March, will incorporate a mix of the very latest state of the art cardio vascular and strength equipment from Cybex.

To celebrate the new facilities, there will be an opening weekend over Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 March, where residents and visitors are invited to check out the centre, find out what’s on and speak to the Aspirations team.

Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to extend Newport Swimming Pool to provide an Aspirations fitness suite.

For more information about any of the facilities at Newport Swimming Pool, call the centre direct on 01952 382740.
