CHRISTMAS IN NEWPORT 11 Ring a bell for Santa Newport residents, well anyone really are invited to spread festive cheer this year by standing on their doorsteps to ring a bell on Christmas Eve, 24th December at 6pm, lets ring a bell to help guide Santa and to celebrate Christmas, like we used to do for the Keyworkers on a Thursday earlier in the year, and ring a bell, (it doesn’t matter what type it is) for 2 minutes. After this awful year we’ve all had, it would be amazing for our communities to join together and create a wonderful memory for the kids and community. “We can end 2020 with some real magic, hope and togetherness.” Not my idea, I just wanted everyone to see it and join in and help spread this great idea. I was invited to join the ‘Ring a Bell for Santa’ Group on Facebook at the beginning of November. Town Criers around the world will be ringing their bells loudly, why not get involved and join them.
