36 DECEMBER 2022 Newport Christmas Lights Switch On Friday 25th November Join in the excitement of the countdown to Christmas, when Newport gets its magic festive feel with the official switch on of the decorative lights throughout the town. A procession including Father Christmas will travel from the Guildhall at 5.45pm to St Nicholas Church arriving at about 6pm. The switch on of the lights will take place around 6pm and will be switched on by the overall Christmas Card Competition winner. This will be followed by a festive sing-a-long in the church accompanied by the Salvation Army. All About Business Doing Business 13 December 2022 You are invited to attend the Business Doing Business event in Newport, Shropshire, This is a Face to Face meeting. Venue: Smallwood Lodge Tearooms and Restaurant, High Street, Newport, Shropshire, TF10 7AP. Free parking on Stafford Street Car Park. This is a free event to be held on Tuesday 13th December 2022 at 7.30am. No fee or membership to pay. Just book to attend and turn up pay for your own coffee/ tea. This event is for businesses that want to do business with like minded people, to collaborate, innovative, share information and forge new connections. The event is open to all businesses from the self employed, small business to corporates and any category of business. All welcome. Newport Chamber of Commerce Meeting Monday 19th December Newport Chamber of Commerce meets on the 3rd Monday of every month at 5.30pm at the Navy Club, Bellman’s Yard, the driveway opposite BOD. Non members are always welcome. The meeting normally concludes around 7pm. The bar will be open. We discuss all things Newport from Parking to events, business issues, grants, funding, free training courses etc. We are here for Newport. Please come along and find out more. It will again be held on both sides of the canal with food, trade and traditional arts and crafts stalls spread along the canal tow path, around Norbury Wharf and in the canalside garden of the Junction Inn. The stalls that used to be in the field behind the pub have been re-located so that they are closer to the other attractions. Lisa Fairy and Windmill Broadcasting will be providing music and information throughout the 3 days and face-painting, plus a Prize Treasure Hunt for children will be available in the pub garden. The pub field will be a Children’s’ Fairground with fairground rides and stalls. And parking at this year’s Festival will be FREE! Dates for your Diary...
