Newport Mayor’s Charities receive £250 Cheque

On Wednesday evening 5th December at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Newport, Peter Scott the Mayor of Newport was presented with a Cheque for £250 by Robin Guy, Chairman of Newport & District Running Club. The monies raised by the running club were the profits from the new Newport 10k and Fun Run held earlier this year in June. Peter said “A big thank you to Helen Reid and her team at the running club that made this event and profit possible.”The Mayor’s charities for 2018/19 are the Newport Cottage Care Centre and 1st Newport Scout Group and representatives from both organisations were present for the handing over of the cheque. The Newport 10K and Fun Run are to be held again in June 2019 following this years success.
