Indoor Market Traders Join Newport Carnival Parade

Newport Indoor Market traders are eagerly preparing for the Newport Carnival on Saturday 8th June. Their float will be depicting 'Market Traders Past, Present and Future, to complement this years Carnival theme.

Stall holders from the market will be dressed in Victorian Costume or as Workmen in Hi-Viz Vests or wearing T Shirts with the new Blue and White Market Logo. They will be handing out leaflets with information about the market and the wonderful refurbishment that is soon to take place.

In readiness for the refurbishment The Indoor Market will close from June 22nd 2019, for an upgrade, keeping listed features of course, it is due to re open on August 2nd 2019. You will have noticed that scaffolding is now hiding Newport's, Iconic, Blue and White, Market Hall building. This is the first stage of the Renovations to restore the Historic Facade and the Indoor Market Stalls.

A new banner has been designed, by the stall holders, for the carnival float. Helen, from The Goody Bag and Anita, from The Emporium of The Useful and Curious are pictured holding the newly designed Market Banner.

The market stall holders would like to thank the people of Newport for their custom and support and look forward to welcoming you all to the new look indoor market hall in early August.
