Cause for celebration
Members of the Newport Bridge Club have recently celebrated the
90th birthday of one of its members.
Nelly Simpson
has played bridge for over 60 years
and joined the Newport club shortly after it was
formed. Nelly is an expert player who over the years
has welcomed and helped many new members to
the club.
The club was founded in 1980. It has had many
homes over it’s 35 years and now meets at
The Hub
next to the Royal Victoria hotel, at the end of St Mary’s
Street in Newport.
The club meets at 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
and has always been friendly and inclusive. It holds
regular teaching sessions and is affiliated to the EBU.
If you are interested in joining a friendly bridge club,
either to play or to learn, please visit us online at

all wish Nelly a happy 90th birthday
and look

Valentines. How much do
you love your family?
Two things you might wish to consider:
1. Make a Will. ensure your life’s work goes to the people you love.
2. Appoint Lasting Powers of Attorney. Have you considered what
happens if a family member is unable to manage their affairs
(Alzheimer’s, Dementia). Do not leave it too late. The courts are
expensive and time consuming.
Don’t leave your affairs to chance and start 2016 in a positive way.
