In 2013, almost out of the blue, David Bowie released
his first album of new music in a decade.
The Next Day was both critically acclaimed and well-
received by his adoring fans.
Satisfied by their hero’s comeback, it would probably
be enough to quench the thirst for new Bowie
material for some time to come. But like buses, you
wait ages and two arrive almost at once.
This month, Bowie is back with Blackstar, his twenty-
fifth studio ablum, scheduled to be released on his
69th birthday.
Blackstar is another album of new songs, this time
featuring the return of one of David’s most revered
creations - Major Tom.
The character was reintroduced in the video for lead
single, also entitled Blackstar.
A 10-minute sci-fi epic, the mini-movie shows off the
eccentricity of the musical maestro.
Recent single Lazarus reiterates the return of Major
Tom from the dead. Now please Mr Bowie, any
chance of live shows?
