Throught the
Garden Gate
About:
Newport In Bloom’s ‘Through
the Garden Gate’ event, held on
Sunday attracted over 250 visitors
and raised £2000.
10 beautiful town and countryside
gardens and Meadow View Road
allotments opened to the public
- some opened for the first time,
all offering something different.
Lunch and afternoon tea were
also available - the delicious
homemade cakes proved to be a
real success.
Newport In Bloom Chairman
Daphne Rogers was “delighted
with the fantastic amount raised
and thanked those who opened
their gardens and all who had
helped to make this a very special
day. The feedback from many of
the visitors was very rewarding
and all involved should be very
proud of all their hardwork”
She also added “All monies raised
will be put towards the costs
of planting in 2016 and hoped
everyone would agree, that the
high street planters and baskets
this year are absolutely stunning”.
