REVIEW 7

Ever sent someone the wrong email? The

consequences can be horrendous. That’s what

happens to a comical alien called Oh, the star of

Disney Pixar’s animated adventure entitled Home.

Oh is a member of the Boov, an alien race that has

taken over Earth. He accidentally sends an email

to the Gorg, sworn enemies of the Boov, and upon

realising his error, attempts to sort the matter.

Oh, voiced by Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons,

makes friends with a little girl called Tip, played by

singer Rihanna. Tip, who stayed on Earth as the Boov

took over, is desperately searching for her mother,

voiced by Jennifer Lopez.

It’s a familiar theme of companionship and road

to discovery, beautifully told by the folks at Pixar in

faultless digital cartoon splendour.

Unlike some of the other big hits from this respected

studio, Home is more aimed at children. It doesn’t

push the same emotional buttons as, let’s say, Toy

Story or Up.

Nevertheless, should the summer sun disappoint

during the school holidays, it is agood way to keep

the little ones entertained for an hour or two.
