My name is Tara Kelsey a mezzo-soprano and vintage singer from Shropshire, Following the success of my concert "A Song to Remember" in tribute for my late Father held at the Dormston Mill Theatre Sedgeley last August, I am now intending on building a season of vintage inspired musical events show casing the music of the 30s/40s/50s to Newport, Shropshire to be held at Cosy Hall."The Golden Age Of Musicals" the first will take place on Saturday 25th of August.
I have spent many years performing in productions in and around the midlands, taking lead roles in musicals and operetta and also performing with Tettenhall operatics. My love of concert work as a soloist also takes me to many venues and charity events. Last year I went on to form a duo with show pianist Wayne C. Baddeley whose musical ability has literally taken him all over the world, from famous cruise liners to theatre shows. Subsequently, he has performed on daytime TV and radio, and has been on stage with bands such as BBC Orchestra and the Joe Loss Orchestra, and jazz legends Kenny Ball and Acker Bilk. He has also appeared alongside comedians Jasper Carrot and Jim Bowen, and also many famous 1960's bands including the Searchers, The Animals, and Gerry and the Pacemakers to name but a few. Wayne still resides in his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent .
A block of tickets have been donated to the Cottage Care Day to help them raise money for the centre. It is my hope these tickets will provide some dear folk the opportunity of a lovely night out I know how enriching music can be for the older generations.
The event will take place on the 25th of August 7pm at Cosy Hall Newport Shropshire TF10 7LD for ticket enquiries and further information call 07957 661222.
