what's happening on the day

Each year thousands of people flock to Newport Town to watch the carnival and parade, There are a variety of shows, music and activities throughout the day, there's something for everyone whatever your age! 

There will be stalls with food, drink, gifts, crafts and fun. 

The event opens at 10am. Procession leaves 12noon from Audley Avenue before proceeding along Avenue Road and into High Street and down Lower Bar.

This year there are some brand new floats, plus some amazing vintage vehicles and some incredible custom motorbikes joining the Carnival

Crowds of people line the High Street. This will be the 9th year the carnival will be held in the heart of Newport on the High Street for the duration of the day. A wonderful family day out and it’s free.
