Shropshire Petal Fields Opens Newport

15 August 2026 - 16 August 2026 - Newport Shropshire

what's happening on the day

Shropshire’s successful flower field experience returns in Newport this summer for 10 days.

The solar powered robots used to drill and weed the flowers are the only ones in the UK doing this practice. The use of the robots means no one will set foot on the field until the flower field opens to visitors from 6th to 16th August 2026, Tickets go on sale on Thursday 25th June 2026.

A visit to Shropshire Petal Fields is a spectacle you’ll never forget,” said Ashley Evers-Swindell from Shropshire Petals. “As you wander through the layers of pink, blue, purple, yellow, and white delphiniums, sunflowers, and wildflowers, you’ll feel like you’re in a fairy-tale and the stresses of modern life will slip away. What makes this year even more special, is that we’re celebrating Shropshire Petals’ 21st anniversary.

Once you’ve strolled around the field and taken in each layer of colour, you can let little ones explore nature in the Wild Woodland Walk, buy your own freshly cut flower bouquets, pose for photos at the focal points, and enjoy drinks and refreshments at the on-site café.

The flower field will be open daily (Dates and times to be confirmed). When booking, you have the choice of a morning ticket (10am – 1pm) or an afternoon ticket (1pm – 5pm). There are three dog days planned, plus a Sunset evening (Dates and times to be confirme).

Professional photographers will be able to purchase a photography pass so they can take commercial images, and if you are interested in holding a corporate sunset event, get in touch with Shropshire Festivals.

Watch the Solar Eclipse from a Field of Flowers

The team behind Shropshire Petal Fields has announced an evening opening on Wednesday, August 12th, giving visitors the chance to watch the partial solar eclipse from the flower field.

This Wednesday's eclipse is expected to begin at approximately 6.14pm in Newport, reach maximum eclipse at 7.11pm, and end at 8.05pm.

During the partial solar eclipse, around 90-96% of the Sun will be covered by the Moon. This will be the most coverage seen from the UK and Ireland since the 1999 solar eclipse.

On August 12th, in addition to the morning and afternoon sessions, you can book onto an evening slot from 5pm - 8pm to enjoy the eclipse. If you have tickets booked earlier in the day, you can move your tickets to the evening session. Dogs are also permitted to attend on August 12th.

Shropshire Petal Fields opened for 2026 on August 7th, and welcomed over 3,000 visitors on the first three event days. The remaining 2026 open dates are August 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th. There will be another sunset opening on August 14th, with the evening sessions running from 5.30pm - 9.30pm, and dogs are welcome on August 12th, 15th, and 16th.
