LOCAL people will soon be able to benefit from a brand new optical and audiology service opening in Newport, Shropshire.
Specsavers at Unit 9, Baddeley Court will be opening its doors to customers next month, helping to provide the very best optical and audiology service to the community.
The business will be run by two store directors: Rizwaan Makda and Vinay Najran, who are both familiar faces to Specsavers as they head up the store in Telford together. Between them, they have 28 years’ optical experience.
‘We will bring the same customer-focussed service that we pride ourselves on in Telford and hope to build similarly strong relationships with members of the local community in Newport,’ says Rizwaan. ‘The opening will also bring job opportunities to the town, so watch this space if you are interested in a career in optometry or audiology.’
The new store will benefit from three optical consulting rooms, a contact lens area and a dedicated sound-proof audiology room as well as offering a 24-hour turnaround for single vision specs. The latest high-tech optical equipment will also be installed throughout, including an OCT (optical coherence tomography) scan which can help detect treatable eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, sooner.
‘The local community is also very important to us,’ says Vinay. ‘We’re already sponsoring Newport Rugby Club and Newport Bowling Team and are looking forward to getting involved with more local causes and events once we’re open.’
