Lots of races across the country were cancelled last weekend due to Storm Ciara, but one that defied the weather was the inaugural Worcester Ring Run.
Newport runner Ellen Deighton braved the wind and rain to run the 23 mile loop, which started and finished in Droitwich Spa and travelled through Worcester city centre.
The run mainly followed canal towpaths and riverside footpaths, with a few tracks across some muddy fields for good measure. Given the conditions, Ellen was pleased to finish in 4 hours 42 minutes.
