Winners Announced Newport’s Christmas Window Competition

The lights are twinkling, and the festive spirit is well and truly alive here in Newport.

For the past few weeks, our wonderful town has been transformed into a winter wonderland, thanks to the incredible creativity and hard work of our local businesses. Storefronts have sparkled with ingenuity, magic, and a healthy dose of Christmas cheer, making the streets of Newport a delight for residents and visitors alike.

The three independent judges have walked the streets, gazed upon the magnificent displays, and cast their votes in what has been a truly fantastic competition. The level of artistry this year has made the judging incredibly difficult, proving that Newport is home to some of the most imaginative entrepreneurs around!

But now, the time has come to reveal which dazzling display has captured the hearts and votes of the judges, and who will be crowned the winner of this year's Christmas Window Competition!

There were several shields up for grabs that are presented each year as follow

John Henshall Chamber of Commerce Membership - winner Brockton Care, was classy and caught the imagination of the judges, close runners up were Immis Cakes & Bakes, the judges commented on the colours, and Ever So Creative had immersed her window with the Christmas decoration and flowed through both windows

Winner Junk & Disorderly, Fun original and very eye catching, runner up Rock & Soul, great use of Christmas decoration with eye catching details such as the Raven with the Santa hat.

Bill Barrass Charity Shop shield - Winner Oxfam, Very original and hand made the overall effect and effort. runner up Katherine House.

Kath Crewe Overall Winner - Winner Mane Hair Salon - stopped the judges in their tracks and the window was packed full of Christmas cheer. All three windows were themed, totally Christmas, Templeton Jones was commended on their country themed Christmas kitchen.

Non retail business - Winner FW Hair, very elegant and oozed the Christmas Spirit, runner up Duignan Phelps, the judges were impressed with the use of spectacles and how they were encorporated within the display.

Newport indoor Market stall holders competition. - Winner The Heartful Home, the stall was beautiful adorned with Christmas - the pastry box were highly commended.

As the curtains close on this year's competition, the Newport Chamber of Commerce wants to extend a massive and heartfelt thank you to every single business that participated. Your incredible efforts in decorating your windows have truly transformed our town, making Newport look more wonderful and festive than ever before!
