Moorfield Primary School in Newport took part in the British Heart Foundation Ultimate Dodgeball competition earlier this year, raising over £1000 for the charity as well as a few hundred pounds for the school.
Sue Hedges, School Business Manager said "Ultimate Dodgeball is one of the British Heart Foundations newest fundraising initiatives and we were very happy to take part. The whole school played a series of Dodgeball tournaments and took a sponsorship form home for friends and parents. Any children that raised over £50 will also receive a Junior Dodgeball which is a great incentive! We couldn't believe that we raised over £1300, over £1000 of which will go to the British Heart Foundation and the rest to school fund. The children had a wonderful day and we hope to join in again next year"
"Fundraising is a very important part of our school life, and many of the charities are chosen by the children themselves. We also have cheques to give to the Severn Hospice and the Dog's Trust and in November we will be having a Mufti Day in aid of Layla's Trust, a local charity who are supporting Alder Hey Hospital"
