Thanks to Newport Town Council, Cosy Hall will open its doors to support Telford & Wrekin’s Sports Markers programme on Thursday 28 February, 6.30-8pm, to help attract even more keen volunteers. Those who wish to attend the workshop must book a place by registering their interest with Telford & Wrekin Council’s Neighbourhood and Leisure Services 01952 382889.
Sport Makers are the people that make sport happen. Anyone who is aged 16 or over can volunteer and become involved by encouraging other people aged 16 or over to take part in a sport or physical activity. The session will give those who attend the workshop an opportunity to find out about the Sport Maker programme that will carry forward the Olympic Legacy by encouraging others to take part in sporting / physical activities.
The Sport Maker volunteers will help to facilitate sporting activities, whether it’s taking photos for a sports group, leading a session or simply providing the oranges at half time for a football team. Those who attend the workshop will meet other volunteers and sports organisers and as a thank you, will receive a free Adidas Sport Makers bag at the end of the session.
