Julianne Griffin, is a Complementary Therapist based here in Newport. In April Julianne will be doing voluntary work in Bosnia for a charity called Healing Hands Network, which helps people suffering from the mental, physical and emotional after-effects of war and disaster.
They send qualified, experienced volunteer complementary therapists to Sarajevo to treat people who lived through the longest siege in modern European history. We also help service and ex-service personnel and their families in the UK. On March 1st, Julianne will be fundraising for her trip to Bosnia. She will be running a pamper and fashion evening at Cosy Hall in order to raise the £800 required to fund her trip, which will allow her to use her expertise as a therapist in a voluntary capacity for two weeks.
Further details of the work and support carried out by Healing Hands Network, can be read on their website at www.healinghandsnetwork.org.uk.
