Telford & Wrekin Council is hosting the biggest jobs fair in Telford at The International Centre on Thursday 27 March. The event will be officially opened at 11am by Bob George, general manager at BAE Systems, Telford, who himself started out as an apprentice, and David Wright, MP for Telford.
Bob and his team will have an armoured vehicle available at the TIC throughout the day. The jobs fair is part of the Council’s wider campaign to tackle high youth unemployment in the borough. Unemployed people will be able to speak one-to-one with leading businesses from across the region, learn firsthand about apprenticeship schemes and gain advice and guidance through seminars and workshops.
Apprentices who are currently working at Telford & Wrekin Council will attend the launch for a photo call at 10.30am at the International Centre. The Council has pledged to lead by example and increase the number offered.
