Setup 25 years ago, Newport League of Friends raises funds thorugh its charity shop situated in Baddeley Court, Newport. The donations of bric-a-brac, clothes and other various items have helped to fund and provide support for Newport Cottage Care Centre and help maintain Newport’s X-Ray unit.
Without their continued support Newport would not have an X-Ray Unit. Margaret Woodcock, the Newport League of Friends Chairman said, 'We are grateful for the support of the people of Newport and the surrounding areas in providing products for the shop, and indeed for purchasing items from our wide range of stock'. She went on to thank the volunteers, 'for their continued commitment and achievements over the years.'
