David Heath a local Newport artist is to hold an exhibition of his work on Sat 27th November at Edgmond Village Hall between 10am and 4pm.
Born in the Staffordshire Moorlands very close to the Peak District, where the local features are the Roaches. David now lives in Newport.
Following a brief spell in Advertising, David trained as an Art teacher completing a PGCE at Liverpool.
His professional career took place in St Helens then Shropshire where he completed a further thirty years as a teacher.
Since his retirement, he has gradually started to produce more of his own work.
David was first introduced to Lino printing whilst at school and continued to use it in my teaching. His enthusiasm for this medium was enhanced further when he attended a course with the artist Ian Phillips.
Initially, producing Lino prints as a record of a cycle tour from St Malo to Nice. Subsequently his subject matter has been the landscapes in and around Shropshire and latterly from some seascapes. You can see more at www.david-heath.co.uk. or Facebook David HeathArtist
