Competition is hotting up as shops and businesses in Newport prepare their windows for the festive trading period. Newport’s Christmas windows are a site to behold.

Shops and businesses go to town on their windows every year and this year is no exception, it is well worth visiting Newport to see them. There are several shields up for grabs that are presented each year as follow : John Henshall

Chamber of Commerce, Eva Allan (Under the flag of Newport Town Council, Eva Allan

presents a shield for the non chamber member). Bill Barrass Charity Shop shield, Kath Crewe Overall Winner. This year there is an additional category Non retail business, so much effort is made by everyone the chamber wanted to be as inclusive as possible.

Our wonderful indoor market will also have the opportunity to enter the market stall holders competition.

Businesses in Newport get your windows ready to be judged.

Independent judges are appointed each year to keep the competition fresh. Judging will take place between Monday 9th and Saturday 14th December. The winning certificates will be presented during the week commencing Monday 16th December.
