Newport, Shropshire – A local youth football team is celebrating a "last-minute winner" this week, after a local business stepped in to ensure the squad has a professional new look for its upcoming final.
RNH Construction has been announced as the official kit sponsor for the Nova United Jets Under 10s, providing much-needed funding for the team’s new strip. In a special move that brings together the town’s youngest and oldest residents, the kit will also proudly feature the logo of Newport Cottage Care Centre. This highlights a new community partnership between local commerce, youth sport, and adult social care, fostering a sense of connection across the generations.
The sponsorship comes at a vital time for the team. RNH Construction moved quickly to support the team’s latest kit launch, ensuring the children would have a fresh kit in time for their big day, where they will be competing for the Telford Junior and Youth Football League Plate at Greenfields Sports Ground, home of Market Drayton Town FC.
The team received further support from their kit supplier Kitlocker. Upon hearing about the new partnership between the club and the care centre, the firm kindly agreed to waive the fees for adding the Newport Cottage Care logo as a gesture of goodwill, ensuring the team's funding could go even further.
Richard Boland, who coaches the football team and recently joined Newport Cottage Care Centre, said:
"We were in a difficult position, but the owners of RNH Construction didn't hesitate. Their generosity has been incredible. By including Newport Cottage Care on the kit as well, they are helping us bridge the gap between two important community assets. It makes it more than just about football; it helps to show these young players that they are part of a wider community and how we can find ways to support one another."
Richard Harper, from RNH Construction, added:
"We are delighted to support the Under 10s team. As soon as we heard they were looking for a sponsor, we were keen to get involved. Seeing our logo displayed alongside a valued and vital local institution such as Newport Cottage Care Centre is a proud moment for us. We’re thrilled to cheer the team on and wish them every success for the remainder of the season."
The team will be proudly wearing their new kits at their final on Sunday 22nd March at Greenfields Sports Ground - Market Drayton – 3.00pm Kick-off. Members of the press are invited for a photo opportunity with the players, representatives from the sponsor, and staff from the Care Centre.
