FIVE local schools have benefitted from a generous donation of more than 350 high-visibility vests from Specsavers in Newport. and Telford
Dispensing consultant, Brieanne Jones and administrator, Jaqui Bird visited the schools to hand out the vests so that the children can be seen more clearly when out and about on school trips.
Newport Infant School and Shifnal Primary School in Newport and Aqueduct Primary School, Donnington Wood Primary School and Muxton Primary School in Telford all received vests.
‘We handed out 365 vests in total and all the schools were hugely appreciative,’ says BenTaylor, dispensing optician at Specsavers Telford. ‘We’ve always been really passionate about helping and being involved in the local communities around both stores and hopefully the vests will be put to good use.’
In line with guidance from the NHS, Specsavers is keeping safety measures in place, including the wearing of face coverings, unless there is a medical exemption. This includes maintaining social distancing in stores, continuing to use PPE and sanitising all testing equipment and frames before and after each use. Doors will be kept open whenever possible to improve ventilation and although card payments are still preferred, cash payments will be accepted too.
Specsavers will also continue to operate its Ask The Expert chat function on its website and its RemoteCare service, which enable customers to speak to an expert from the comfort of their home via video call or phone.
